The FGSC on the Internet

The FGSC maintains an extensive web site and articles from this and previous Newsletters are available on-line. Additionally visitors will find strain listings and convenient database and bibliography searches. Other resources available include methods, recipes and hints for working with Neurospora, Aspergillus and other fungi and an FGSC deposit sheet. The Web site contains the most up-to-date FGSC strain listings and mailing list.

FGSC Staffing change

Mr. Christopher Kunce has joined the FGSC as technician.

Neurospora RFLP maps

Drs. Mary Anne Nelson and Donald Natvig have assumed responsibility for data derived from RFLP mapping efforts[see Fungal Genet. Newsl. 42:82-90 (1995) for most recent map]. Please submit any new results to them (manelson@unm.edu or dnatvig@unm.edu). Numbers may be assigned to submissions to preserve confidentiality.

Neurospora 1998

The Neurospora policy committee is pleased to announce dates for the 1998 Neurospora Meeting at Asilomar. June 18-21 has been set aside for a meeting featuring morning and afternoon sessions and a poster session to allow everyone present their work.
Contact Dr. Kathy Borkovitch for more information. Application materials will be mailed later in the year and will be available on the FGSC web-site.
