cultural_requirements: Unmapped. Not linked to su(trp-3td201)-1 or other VII markers. Allele specific. Suppresses missense allete td201, but not four other alleles (td1, td6, td71, and td141). The one allele tested gave less powerful suppression of td201 than did the known alleles of su(trp-3td201)-1 . The suppressed mutant has a low level of tryptophan synthetase activity, allowing slow growth on minimal medium. Restored enzyme activity is due to a protein physically like that of the wild type. Called su3 and su3(201) (1173).
