cultural_requirements: Unmapped. Segregates as a single gene, independent of gluc-1. Constitutive production of both cellulose and cellobiase. Does not affect levels of aryl-p-glucosidase. Recessive to the wild type in heterokaryons (728). Isolated by using gluc-1and selecting for high activity in destroying the beta-glucoside esculin (300). (Cellulase, cellobiase, and aryl-beta-glucosidase are normally induced simultaneously by cellobiose.
