cultural_requirements: Probably allelic with sk, q.v. VII. Linked to nt (12 to 19%) (382), probably to the right (PB). Morphology identical to that of sk mutants; linkage similar (PB). Morphology reported influenced by temperature and medium: more spreading on minimal or complete medium at 25 C; zoned growth at 34°C on complete (382). Temperature effect could be due to scot, the presence of which in the strain of origin was not recognized. Photographs of strain R2408: Fig. 19 through 22 in reference 382. Reduced amount of cell wall peptides (1165).
