ssu-8	IR. Linked to al-2 (2 to 8%) (145). Allele Y319-37 selected as suppressor of an aro(p) nonsense allele (145). Also suppresses certain nonsense alleles of trp-3, his-3 (reference 145) and ad-3B (reference 749). Allele Y319-37 (FGSC no. 1749), also called 54-su37, was initially thought to be a possible allele of ssu-2 and thus was listed as ssu-2 (?); later it was designated ssu-8 (145). It has been erroneously called ssu-7 in various FGSC lists and by Griffiths (408) and has been erroneously stated to be in linkage group VI (the location of the real ssu-7).	IR	B
