Data do not distinguish linkage group because T(IVR;VR)R2355 was present.Requirement satisfied by C16 or C18 fatty acids having a double bond in cis at either the Delta9 or Delta11 position, by C16 fatty acids with double bond in trans at Delta9, or by fatty acids with multiple cis double bonds interrupted by methylene bridges (944, 945). Reverts readily, and revertants overgrow culture if grown on suboptimal supplement (S. Brody, personal communication). Tween 80 (0.1%) is satisfactory for maintenance.
